Home
Genoa is a special place on Sunday
mornings. Pastor Frank Carl always
provides much food for thought when he shares God's word with us each
week.
For many singles it can be frustrating to
hear the message and then not have an opportunity to talk about and
explore how God's word can impact their lives.
What We Do
This is where the Oasis Sunday school class
comes in. Our goal each Sunday morning as a class is
to explore the message from the 9:15 service.
Generally [ I ] pastor Chris will get things
started by sharing a few scriptures and opening with prayer and then
open the discussion up to provide plenty of room for feedback and
sharing.
If there is a specific need for prayer, this
is also a great place for singles to come with prayer requests.
Age Range
Some have asked why this age group is so
large (30+). Please allow me to share two comments on this
matter.
First, you will meet other singles that are
close to you in age and most likely life experience. I have
heard often over the past few months "She [or he] is so much like me,
I cannot believe it!". This is a great ministry for friendship
building.
Next there is also strong Biblical
encouragement for people of differing age groups to encourage one
another.
1 Peter 5:5 says "Young men, in the same way
be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves
with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but
gives grace to the humble."
 The
age differences bring Genoa's singles ministry a tremendous depth and
wonderful texture of joy and laughter.
