What is MOPS?

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. 

MOPS

is a worldwide non-denominational ministry that encourages mothers of young children, who are adjusting to the joys and challenges of motherhood.  MOPS is about celebrating motherhood, meeting needs, making connections, and experiencing God’s love.  Genoa MOPS/Moms Next exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. How?  By meeting the needs of their mothers, because when we impact a mom, we impact a child, and ultimately, impact the world. Better moms make a better world!

 

The mission of MOPS & MOPS Next at Genoa Church is 3 fold:

1. We are about Jesus!

2. We are about Impacting Moms to Impact Others

3. We are for moms! Come and feel welcomed, included and heard!

Who Can Be in MOPS?

MOPS is open to ANY mother of children, birth through school age!

What is MOMSnext?

MOMSnext is a group experience designed to encourage, equip and develop mothers of school-age children.  

Who can be in MOMSnext?

MOMSnext is open to every mother of school-age children.

 

Basically, every mom has a place and is welcome at Genoa MOPS/Moms Next.

When and where does MOPS/Moms Next meet?

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday (September – May) of each month. The 1st Thursday is for “Soul Care”, our monthly Bible Study, and the 3rd Thursday is for our main meeting. Soul Care meets from 9:30 – 10:30 and our main meeting meets from 9:30 – 11:30. All meetings are held in the lower kids building at Genoa Church at 7562 Lewis Center Rd.

What do you do at MOPS & MOMSnext meetings?

Monthly meetings include coffee (because what mom doesn’t need coffee!!), delicious breakfast, friendly fellowship, various speakers, discussion group time, and some relevant and useful crafts. 
 
What do I do with my children?
Childcare is provided for meetings by reservation only, for children age 12 weeks to 5 years. To reserve a spot in MOPPETS, e-mail your reservation to Angela Buck at abuck@genoachurch.org
 
What does it cost to join MOPS & MOMSnext and attend meetings?
The total cost to join MOPS & MOMSnext at Genoa is $55, for the whole year.  If you would like information about membership scholarships, please contact Angela Buck.

How do I receive a monthly MOPS & MOMSnext newsletter and list of announcements, special events?

The monthly newsletter is distributed at each meeting.  Also, there is a Facebook group page that keeps members informed between meetings.  Newsletters will also be posted on our Facebook group page.  
 

Is there anything else going on besides monthly morning meetings?
Throughout the year, MOPS organizes activities and special events, such as Morning Playdates, Mom’s Night Out,  and more.  Please see the monthly newsletters, Facebook group page and the loop for updates.
