When we become a Christian, God gives us salvation and the hope of eternity in heaven. He also gives us purpose and significance in our lives. He has given each of us the opportunity to serve others and make a real difference in our community. When you serve others in Jesus’ name, you’re ministering. God didn’t design ministry for just a few people. At Genoa, we believe that every member of our church is a minister.

God wants you to share His love where you are. As a student, mother, teacher, salesman, manager, or whatever you do, God wants you to reach out to the people in your life. That might mean inviting a friend to church or showing love to those in need around you.

At Genoa, we teach that all believers are shaped by God with individual gifts and talents that are to be used to support the Body of Christ. Our Ministry Team has designed several tools to help guide you in discovering how your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences (SHAPE) in life can be used by God to mold you for service. If you have not been through CLASS 301 – ‘Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts,’ sign up now!

As you review the dozens of ministry opportunities listed below, ask God to guide you and empower you for active ministry.

Please remember, the church is not a cruise ship, it is a battleship. There is a place for you to be involved in ministry. While some ministries require membership (such as teaching, etc;) there is a place for everyone.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10).
